biodiversity - more wildflowers, more invertebrates, more birds and mammals
We are a small family nursery located in Fife, Scotland, specialising in the production of native wildflowers to increase the biodiversity of our gardens, parks and other greenspaces.

We are keen to hear from you if there are any other native plants you would like us to grow, or if you need larger amounts than the standard packs advertised.
plant at least one new wildflower a month in your gardenAs our aim is to do our bit to increase biodiversity, the animal life of our nursery is naturally as important to us as the plants. No insect is a pest just a competitor. Actually it's rare for our wildflowers to be seriously damaged by anything other than slugs. Luckily slugs don't fly so its not too difficult to keep them away.

BIOLOGICAL CONTROLWherever there are herbivores there are predatory insects as well that keep their numbers in balance.
If you grow your vegetables in neat rows between barren areas of soil or brick there is nothing else for insects to eat. Keep lots of wildflowers growing in the area and the insects that eat these will generate more predators to keep the vegetable-eaters under control. |
Hardy Scottish Plants
All of our wildflowers are grown either out of doors or in a polytunnel in Fife, in Central Scotland - not forced in temperature-controlled factories - and are tough enough to be planted out immediately and thrive in almost any climate

Individual Attention
All of our seeds are sown by hand and tended by real people - no conveyor belts and laser beams -, through the process of imbibing water and germinating, though the difficult early seedling days when too little or two much water can have disastrous consequences, through to the stage when they have filled their pots with roots and are ready to fend for themselves in the garden of their new home.

Who Are We
With a BSc honours degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Nottingham, a PhD from Southampton, a couple of degrees in Civil Engineering from Dundee and most recently a BSc honours degree in Garden and Greenspace Design awarded by Glasgow University we are obviously unemployable, but we do know a bit about plants and the devastating effect over intensive agricultural practices and inappropriate building developments can have on biodiversity.
